Questions & Answers About Our Emergency Dental Services

We will do our best to help your dental emergency as soon as possible

What constitutes a dental emergency?

Any situation where you’re in severe pain, have a loose or knocked-out tooth, or are experiencing uncontrolled oral bleeding is considered a dental emergency. Remember, better safe than sorry!

How quickly should I seek help in a dental emergency?

As soon as possible! The quicker you get help, the better your chances are of saving a tooth or preventing an infection from spreading. And remember, tooth fairy pays more for teeth that are still in good condition!

What should I do if my tooth gets knocked out?

Rinse the tooth gently, try to place it back in its socket, and seek immediate dental help. If you can’t put it back, store it in a glass of milk. Just make sure not to mistake it for a pearly white marshmallow in your coffee!

Can all dentists handle dental emergencies?

While most dentists can deal with common dental emergencies, at Valley Dental, we have specific training and experience dealing with a wide range of emergency situations. Yes, you could say we’re the superheroes of the dental world – but don’t worry, no capes, just great care!

Are dental emergencies covered by insurance?

This depends on your specific insurance plan. It’s best to check with your provider. After all, reading the fine print is almost as fun as flossing – almost!

What if I have a dental emergency outside of normal office hours?

We unfortunately will not have any dentists in the area after hours, so it will have to wait until the next business day.

What can I do to prevent dental emergencies?

Regular check-ups, wearing mouth guards during sports, and avoiding hard foods can help. It’s like the toothbrush said to the toothpaste, “I’ve got the brush, you’ve got the moves, let’s prevent cavities!”

Can dental emergencies be life-threatening?

In rare cases, yes, if an infection spreads it can be serious. That’s why immediate treatment is so important.
